The work of AYWDN is guided by the principles enshrined in Article 3 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities ( UN CRPD)

We focus on creating a lasting impact in Africa by ensuring that Youth with Disabilities in the Continent have an efficient Network through which to voice and share their concerns, issues, accomplishments, goals and aspirations.

To realize our Vision of an inclusive and barrier free society for Youth with Disabilities in Africa, AYWDN focuses its work around key interconnected thematic areas. This ensures that the Network is setting and working towards achieving meaningful and measurable objectives.

Our thematic work areas are drawn on the Network’s commitment to advocate and promote for inclusive communities, address barriers that hinder equality and access to opportunities, generate resources for continued growth and expansion and propose meaningful solutions for long standing, current challenges.
