The work of the African Youth with Disabilities Network (AYWDN) is guided by the principles stated in Article 3 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD)

We focus on creating a lasting impact in Africa by ensuring that Youth with Disabilities in the Continent have an efficient Network through which to voice and share their concerns, issues, accomplishments, goals and aspirations.

To realize our Vision of an inclusive and barrier free society for Youth with Disabilities in Africa, AYWDN focuses its work around key interconnected program areas. This ensures that the Network is setting realistic goals and working towards achieving effective and measurable outcomes.

Our Network programs are drawn on AYWDN’s commitment to advocate and promote for inclusive communities, address barriers that hinder equality and access to opportunities, generate resources for continued growth and expansion and propose meaningful solutions for long standing, current challenges.
